Biwase achieves 74% of 2023 profit target

HCMC – Binh Duong Water Environment Joint Stock Company (Biwase), whose BWE shares are traded on the Hochiminh Stock Exchange, has announced that it achieved 74% of its revenue and profit targets for 2023.

In the January-October period, the company generated more than VND2.9 trillion in revenue and VND536 billion in after-tax profit, down 6% and 7% over the same period last year, respectively.

This revenue did not include VND150 billion made from waste processing.

Previously, Biwase set the target of reaching total revenue at VND3.7 trillion and after-tax profit at VND720 billion this year.

With the January-October business performance, the company achieved 74% of both its 2023 revenue and profit targets.

Closing the trading session today, November 24, BWE declined 1.17% against yesterday’s session to VND42,200, with 62,500 shares traded.

In related news, the VN-Index of the Hochiminh Stock Exchange today added 7.12 points, or 0.65%, against the previous session, closing at 1,095.61 points with 146 gainers and 381 decliners.

Over 958.34 million shares worth VND19.2 trillion were traded on the southern bourse today, down 5.88% in volume and 6.76% in value. Block deals accounted for nearly 57 million shares, amounting to more than VND1.4 trillion.

Stocks in the VN30 basket performed well, with 17 stocks gaining and 9 stocks declining.

Among them, beer producer SAB shares surged by 4.3% to VND63,000. Retailer MWG also rose by 3.35% to VND38,550 with nearly 11.2 million shares matched.

VIX took the lead by liquidity with 56.86 million shares changing hands. Closing the trading session, it increased by 3.75% to VND16,600.

Losers outnumbered winners on the Hanoi Stock Exchange by 102 to 57. However, the HNX-Index managed to add 1.56 points, or 0.7%, at 226.1 points, with 122.3 million shares worth VND2.2 trillion changing hands.
