Having had to support his family, Le Van Manh set aside his passion for cycling from an early age. When he reached 45, he began cycling with a passion that was bigger than ever. Manh, who is now 65 years old, says he has good knowledge about the geography, history and cultures of the Southeast Asian region. This is why he loves discovering more about the region regardless of his age. It is hard for anyone to travel to all localities in Vietnam in one’s lifetime, so take time to travel overseas when there is a chance before visiting as many destinations at home as one could, he says. Apart from Cambodia where Manh has come quite a few times, the Philippines is also the country he has visited up to 25 times on his bicycle. “I have visited ASEAN countries a dozen times each,” Manh says. “I rode my bicycle all the way if there were roads across the border.
