HCMC – Central Vietnam’s provinces are working to guarantee a steady supply of goods for the upcoming Lunar New Year, or Tet, according to the Vietnam Government Portal.
Local governments in Danang, Daklak, and Phu Yen are collaborating with businesses to stockpile essential items such as rice, meat, and dry goods, ensuring they meet the rising demand during the holiday season.
In Danang, the city has stocked VND2.8 trillion worth of goods and plans to establish 14 sale points active from January 26 to 28, offering affordable options for consumers.
The coastal city is launching a month-long promotional campaign and hosting a spring fair featuring 200-250 stalls to boost spending.
Daklak Province in the Central Highlands has allocated over VND507 billion for 11 businesses to stock up on consumer goods. The local government is also ensuring that local wet markets and stores remain well-stocked.
Both provinces have outlined a list of essential goods, including food, fuel, and cooking oil, with price controls in place until the end of February.
Phu Yen Province is working with businesses to organize multiple rounds of promotions and discounts to encourage consumer spending. The Department of Industry and Trade is also coordinating with fuel suppliers and the local power company to guarantee an uninterrupted energy supply during the holiday period.
