HCMC – Chau Giang ferry service, a crucial transportation link between Chau Doc City and Tan Chau Town in An Giang Province across the Hau River, is expected to halt operations as the Chau Doc Bridge nears completion.

“The Chau Giang ferry terminal will stop service from 7 p.m. on May 5,” said Nguyen Thanh Cuong, deputy director of An Giang Province’s Department of Transport today, April 18.

Following the cessation of Chau Giang ferry service, commuters and vehicles will be rerouted to the Chau Doc Bridge, situated 1.4 kilometers downstream. This redirection aims to enhance connectivity and reduce travel time between the two destinations.

This decision aligns with the imminent opening of the Chau Doc Bridge to traffic on April 23.

The VND534-billion Chau Doc Bridge, boasting a length of 667 meters and a width of 14 meters, has four lanes, and signifies a pivotal development in the region’s transportation network.
