HCMC – Indonesia’s Citilink Airlines plans to launch charter flights from Jakarta to Vietnam’s central coastal city of Danang by the end of this year.
This announcement was made during the Vietnam-Indonesia tourism business networking event held on July 16 in Danang City.
The event was part of a familiarization trip to Danang and central Vietnam conducted earlier this year by 35 Indonesian tourism companies to enhance tourism product experiences and promoting flight services from Indonesia to Danang in the near future.
Citilink Airlines is collaborating with travel agents in Danang and central Vietnam to expedite the inauguration of the air service in the fourth quarter of this year, with a planned frequency of two charter flights per week.
The introduction of direct flights linking Jakarta and Danang by Citilink Airlines is expected to boost tourism promotion and attract more visitors from the Indonesian market.
In 2023, Danang welcomed over 26,000 visitors from Indonesia, accounting for 25% of the total Indonesian visitors to Vietnam.
