As a major private technology corporation based in Hanoi, CMC Technology and Solution Company (CMC) has implemented several corporate social responsibility (CSR) programs, primarily focusing on donating computers and technology products to support digitalization efforts across the country.

Increasing computer access for various units

At the end of May, CMC representatives led by Nguyen Thanh Luu, head of Marketing and Communications, donated seven computer sets to the People’s Committee of Chan Ly Commune, Ly Nhan District, Ha Nam Province. The commune allocated three of these computers to the local health clinic to support the establishment of electronic medical records and professional activities. The remaining four computers were assigned to other bodies to help with digital transformation efforts.

In 2024, Chan Ly Commune plans to enhance IT application in its operations, aiming for comprehensive digital transformation across education, economy, healthcare, and other sectors. The seven computers and CMC’s advisory support will significantly aid the commune’s digital transformation initiatives.

In August 2023, CMC donated 100 computers worth nearly VND600 million to Ba Vi District, Hanoi, to support education and digital transformation. These computers were distributed to local administrative offices and schools in Ba Vi, helping improve IT application in teaching, providing additional teaching equipment, and contributing to local digital transformation.

At the donation event, Duong Cao Thanh, secretary of Ba Vi District’s Party Committee, noted, “The focus of Ba Vi District’s activities in the near future is to promote comprehensive digital transformation. The 100 computers donated by CMC will play a crucial role in advancing the digital transformation of local government, accelerating the district’s digital initiatives.”

Last year, CMC also donated 24 desktop computers worth VND400 million to 24 communes in Yen Binh District in Yen Bai Province to support digital transformation efforts.

At the end of 2023, CMC also donated six PC sets and an 85-inch TV with a mobile stand worth VND100 million to Dao Duy Tung Primary School in Uy No Commune in Hanoi City’s Dong Anh District, Nguyen Thi Hue, Principal of the primary school, stated that the computers and TV have improved teaching and learning efficiency, enhancing the library’s appeal to students and teachers. The donation supports the development of reading culture and helps achieve better educational outcomes.

Supporting digital transformation for businesses

In addition to its computer donation programs, CMC supports digital transformation for businesses through technology solutions. At the end of 2023, to celebrate the 30th anniversary of the Vietnam Young Entrepreneurs Association, CMC provided free use of its CMC Malware Detection and Protection (CMDD) solution to businesses in Vietnam for six months, valued at up to VND7 billion. This initiative aims to enhance the security and safety of information for Vietnamese startups, accelerating sustainable development and contributing to the country’s economic growth.

In November of the previous year, CMC donated VND10 billion to support 500 businesses in Ba Ria-Vung Tau Province in their digital transformation efforts. During a technology product and service matchmaking seminar, CMC provided 500 CMDD software licenses for six months to businesses in this province, furthering their digital initiatives.

Other charitable programs

Besides these programs, CMC is involved in various charitable activities. At the end of January 2024, CMC, in collaboration with the People’s Committee of Cau Giay District, Hanoi, supported social welfare by providing Tet gifts to 60 households and 80 children in need. These gifts aim to uplift the spirits of residents, particularly children from impoverished families, and improve their living conditions during Tet.

In late August 2023, CMC, along with Nguyen Thi Doan, former vice president and president of the Vietnam Learning Promotion Association, gave VND100 million to the Nguyen Huu Duyen Scholarship Fund in Chan Ly Commune, Ly Nhan District, Ha Nam Province. This contribution helps reward outstanding students, those who have achieved high academic results, and those overcoming difficult circumstances in the 2022-2023 school year.

Also in August of the previous year, CMC and Operation Smile Vietnam launched a Smile Surgery program in Hue for children with cleft lips, palates, and facial defects. Through the Digital Heritage Race, CMC and Operation Smile donated VND300 million to cover the cost of 30 smile surgeries for underprivileged children in central Vietnam.

Commenting on CMC’s recent social contributions, Nguyen Trung Chinh, chairman of CMC, said, “Despite the current economic challenges faced by Vietnam and the world, CMC as a telecom IT company remains committed to its social responsibility. We are dedicated to driving digital transformation, advancing education and training, and nurturing the nation’s youth.”
