HCMC – Le Tuyet Hang, the most critically ill Covid-19 patient at the National Hospital for Tropical Diseases, has recovered and will be discharged from hospital tomorrow, May 27.

Hang tested negative for Covid-19 seven times. The 64-year-old resident of Hanoi was hospitalized on March 6. She is an aunt of the country’s 17th case, who marked the start of the second coronavirus wave in Vietnam.

Earlier, Hang had to rely on a ventilator and a life support machine called ECMO. She also suffered a cardiac arrest three times.

Besides this, the Hanoi-based hospital noted that it would release two other recovered Covid-19 patients tomorrow. They are both Vietnamese who returned from abroad.

The 52nd case is a 24-year-old woman residing in the northern province of Quang Ninh. She tested positive for the new coronavirus after her recovery. On being transferred to the hospital for further treatment, her test results came back negative twice on May 20 and 25.

The 324th case also tested negative twice and remains in stable condition. This 18-year-old man is a student in the United States. He returned to Vietnam on May 16 through Noi Bai airport.

The three patients will self-isolate at home for another 14 days after leaving the hospital.
