Located in the northwestern mountainous province of Yen Bai, Thac Ba Lake, which is likened to Halong Bay on the mountain, is one of Vietnam’s three largest artificial lakes.

The lake, formed when Thac Ba Hydropower Plant was built in 1971, covers 20,000 hectares of surface water, 1,300 large and small green islets, and a beautiful cave system hidden deep in the limestone mountains.

Not only providing water to generate electricity for the national grid, but Thac Ba Lake also supplies fresh air and a rendezvous for people, the locals, and tourists alike.

Traveling by boat around the lake, visitors will enjoy the fresh air in the immense water and beautiful islets to temporarily forget the hustle and bustle of everyday life.
