HCMC – Cu Lan Village in Lam Dong Province has been suspended from operations after four senior South Korean tourists died in a flash flood yesterday.
A flash flood, which had been unseen in the past 10 years, swept away the vintage UAZ vehicle the four Koreans were traveling in along a shallow stream in the tourist village in Lac Duong District.
The operator of the tourist village is required to work with law enforcement agencies to determine the cause of the incident and address its aftermath.
Business can only resume at the village after safety requirements are met and flood and natural disaster prevention and control measures taken.
Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh has ordered the province to investigate the incident and taken preventive measures.
Cu Lan Village, around 20 kilometers from the center of Dalat City, has emerged as an attraction for local and international tourists since its establishment in 2011. The village offers services such as camping, forest exploration, horse riding, and local cultural experiences.
