DANANG – Could Danang be the wedding destination of choice for Indian billionaires? It certainly has the right hotels and quality wedding infrastructure for the purpose, an Indian tourism company representative said.

The company added that they were working with Vietnamese partners on the wedding of an Indian billionaire to be held at a resort in Danang in January 2023, featuring 450 guests.

A Danang delegation, led by Tran Phuoc Son, vice chairman of the Danang People’s Committee, paid a working visit to India from September 28-30 to promote investment, tourism and trade cooperation between Danang and India.

During the trip, the Danang delegation also met with Global Air Supplies to boost cooperation programs between the company and Danang’s tourism sector.

Explaining the reason for selecting Danang as a destination for Indian weddings, the director of the Indian tourism company said after conducting surveys, he realized Danang had all the qualifications for organizing Indian weddings as the city has quality accommodation and wedding services.

Before the outbreak of the pandemic, the company successfully organized an Indian wedding in Danang with the participation of over 600 guests.

Local tourism companies are conducting promotion programs to lure additional visitors from this potential market. At the same time, investment in tourism products and services is being commenced to satisfy the demands of these guests, according to a local company representative.

The Indian tourist market cannot be developed overnight as this market is specific and has its own requirements; therefore, the city needs to have a tourism ecosystem with satisfactory products and services, he added.

During the meeting with the Danang delegation, enterprises said that to attract guests from the Indian market, a simple visa application process and a tourist ecosystem for guests from this market should be in place, while the city should also create favorable conditions for opening Indian food restaurants to cater to this special group of guests.
