HCMC – Danang on September 8 broke ground on a coastal road connecting Lien Chieu port with National Highway 1A and the bypass of Hai Van-Tuy Loan tunnel.
The project cost is over VND1,203 billion (US$52 million), funded by the state and the city budget. It is scheduled for completion by 2025.
This 2.96-kilometer road will have six lanes and a designed speed limit of 60 kilometers per hour.
Key components of the project include overpasses at the intersection of the North-South railway, Nguyen Van Cu Street, and the bypass of Nam Hai Van-Tuy Loan, which will significantly improve access to and from the port. The project will also involve the construction of a canal bridge, an underground tunnel to Suoi Luong, an internal tunnel within the Lien Chieu Industrial Park, and the reconstruction of the Lien Chieu bridge.
The primary focus will be on building technical infrastructure for power supply, lighting, trees, telecom cables, drainage, and related components.
Speaking at the ceremony, Le Trung Chinh, chairman of Danang City, said the project has a crucial role in enhancing connectivity between the road system and the seaport. This development is expected not only to enhance overall traffic infrastructure but also to stimulate socio-economic growth in the northern region.
