Danang promotes culinary culture to visitors through cooking contest

DANANG – A culinary contest, organized by the Danang Labor Union and Hotel Association, offered an opportunity for the city to promote culinary culture among local and international visitors to Danang.

Currently, tourists not only demand good accommodation services but also care about their local culinary experiences. Therefore, the contest themed, “Danang’s delicious food with the U.S. chicken”, sought to bring interesting culinary experiences to Danang’s visitors, contributing to promoting the city’s image among international guests.

The culinary contest was organized at the International Convention Palace – Furama Danang on October 6 in collaboration with the USA Poultry and Egg Export Council, the Danang Culinary Association and Furama Resort Danang.

The contest served as a precedent for the city to organize other similar contests yearly under the Danang brand.

According to Cao Tri Dung, chairman of the Danang Tourism Association, this contest is one of the events helping Danang’s tourism recover post pandemic.

In the coming time, when direct international flights resume, Danang is set to receive lots of international guests; therefore, improving the skills of cooks and preparing diversified food will bring Danang’s tourism sector an advantage, added the representative.

The culinary contest, themed “Danang’s delicious food with the U.S. chicken”, featured 30 professional cooks from Danang’s hotels and resorts who hoped to bring impressive international-standard dishes combining U.S. chicken as the main ingredient and local spices.
