HCMC – As Covid-19 is showing more complicated developments in HCMC, the Civil Aviation Authority of Vietnam (CAAV) has asked airlines to reduce their domestic flights to the Tan Son Nhat International Airport in the city to a maximum of 63 flights per day, from June 1 to 14.
Of the total, Vietnam Airlines can operate 28 flights each day; Vietjet, 20; Pacific Airlines, three; Bamboo Airways, 11; and Vietravel Airlines, one.
Every day, 18 flights will be run on the Hanoi-HCMC air route, seven being operated by Vietnam Airlines, six by Vietjet, four by Bamboo Airways and one by Pacific Airlines.
Meanwhile, two to six flights per day will be operated on other routes, such as Danang-HCMC and Phu Quoc-HCMC. Only one flight will be run on routes from HCMC to Tuy Hoa City in Phu Yen Province and Dong Hoi City in Quang Binh Province.
Before the Covid-19 resurgence, air carriers were operating hundreds of domestic flights every day to and from the Tan Son Nhat International Airport.
