Must read

HCMC – The Dong Nai government handed over more than 1,800 hectares of cleared land to the Southern Airports Authority for the first phase of the Long Thanh international airport project on October 20, a part of the total of 5,000 hectares of land for the construction of the big-ticket project.

After the 1,800 hectares of land were handed over to the Southern Airports Authority, the authority will hand it over to the Airports Corporation of Vietnam (ACV), Dong Nai Chairman Cao Tien Dung told Phap Luat Online.

ACV will build a fence around the land to prevent encroachment or illegal construction after the handover, Dung added.

The government of Long Thanh District has paid VND1.3 trillion in compensation for 611 households and individuals. The following payments will be done this month, according to Dung.

As for the Loc An-Binh Son resettlement area project, which will cover an area of over 280 hectares, most components of the project have basically been completed after six months of construction.

Meanwhile, the province will inspect the remaining 3,200 hectares of land and set the compensation price in the remaining months of the year to hand it over in the second quarter of 2021.

The Long Thanh International Airport is designed to handle up to 100 million passengers and five million tons of cargo per year once the three construction phases are completed by 2050. The project requires an estimated VND336.6 trillion.
