Dragon Capital raises stake in Khang Dien

HCMC – Dragon Capital has increased its ownership in Khang Dien House Trading and Investment JSC, which is listed on the Hochiminh Stock Exchange (HOSE) under stock code KDH.

The fund manager via its affiliates purchased more than one million KDH shares on December 29, 2023, raising its stake in Khang Dien from 10.94% to 11.08%.

Among those, Venner Group Limited purchased 436,900 shares, CTBC Vietnam Equity Fund acquired over 364,900 shares; and Hanoi Investments Holdings Limited got 257,600 shares.

Prior to these transactions, Amersham Industries Limited, a member of Dragon Capital, sold 200,000 KDH shares on December 12.

Regarding Khang Dien’s business performance, the housing developer made VND1.62 trillion in revenue and VND667.2 billion in after-tax profit between January and September, down 3.2% and 31.3% over the same period last year, respectively.

On the southern bourse, KDH closed the trading session today, January 5, with a 0.16% upstick against yesterday’s session to VND31,000, with more than 1.67 million shares changing hands.

The VN-Index made gains for the sixth consecutive session today, supported mainly by bank stocks. Ending the trading session today, the VN-Index added 3.96 points, or 0.34%, over the previous session, at 1,154.68 points, with 221 winners and 267 losers.

More than 803 million shares worth over VND16.3 trillion were traded on the southern bourse, down by over 32.2% in volume and 35.5% in value. Block deals contributed VND905 billion to the overall value, with 43 million shares traded.

Bank stocks continued to be a key driver of the market, with the majority staying in positive territory.

Among them, BID contributed nearly 1.3 points to the overall index with a rise of 1.95% in price. STB was the best-performing stock in the banking sector, closing 2.4% higher to VND29,300 and a trading volume of 31.29 million units.

Meanwhile, SHB took the lead by liquidity on the market with around 39.86 million units transacted, closing with a modest 0.9% rise to 11,550.

With 70 advancers and 79 decliners, the HNX-Index of the Hanoi Stock Exchange added 0.2 points, up by 0.09% versus the session earlier, to reach 232.76 points. There were 59.58 million shares valued at nearly VND1.1 trillion traded on the northern bourse.
