HCMC – The Ministry of Finance (MOF) has sought feedback from the Ministry of Transport on a domestic airfare cap hike proposal.

Domestic carriers have recently written to the MOF asking for permission to revise up the domestic air ticket price cap.

Earlier, local carrier Bamboo Airways asked the Price Management Department at the MOF to raise the domestic airfare cap while others sought approval for discounts on air transportation services.

However, Vietnamese aviation law stipulates that airlines may decide on domestic air transport service prices within the service price frame prescribed by the Ministry of Transport and declare the prices to the Ministry of Transport.

Thus, the Ministry of Transport is responsible for aviation management and air transport service pricing.
