HCMC – Last night, July 27, the Ministry of Transport urgently announced the suspension of among road vehicles from/to Danang City from July 28.
The ministry also tasked the Directorate for Roads of Vietnam, aviation authorities, domestic waterway authorities and the Vietnam Railway Authority with working with relevant agencies to promptly issue guidelines over Covid-19, including the evacuation of visitors stranded in Danang City.
The aviation authorities were told to suspend all flights from/to the central coastal city, while increasing the flight frequency to evacuate visitors in Danang City.
Other flights transporting passengers from/to other localities are still operational, Thanh Nien Online reported.
Meanwhile, the Civil Aviation Authority of Vietnam has also ordered local airports, airlines and competent agencies to strictly adopt Covid-19 infection prevention and control measures, according to Nguoi Lao Dong Online.
Accordingly, before boarding, passengers must make online health declarations, have their body temperature checked and wash their hands with sanitizer. In addition, passengers are required to minimize talking and consuming meals onboard. Apart from this, all planes must be disinfected after landing.
As for road transport, interprovincial coaches, passenger cars, contracted cars and taxis from/to the city and inter-city buses were suspended from today, while vehicles used for healthcare purposes, those transporting food, essential goods and shuttle transport services for employees and experts are still operational.
Meanwhile, vehicles which travel through Danang City are not allowed to stop in the city to pick up and drop off passengers.
Train services between Danang City and other localities were also suspended today under the Ministry of Transport’s decision, while the trains running on the Hanoi-HCMC rail route remain operational, but are not permitted to pick up and drop off passengers at Danang-based train stations.
Some trains on the Hanoi-HCMC route such as SE5/6 and SE9/10, which departed from Hanoi or HCMC before July 28, are allowed to stop in Danang City to drop off passengers.
Moreover, ships transporting passengers from/to Danang City were also asked to temporarily stop their operations.
The decision will take effect for 15 days until further notice.
