HCMC – The Health Ministry has reported one fresh Covid-19 patient who was quarantined upon arrival in the Mekong Delta city of Can Tho, taking Vietnam’s total infections to 1,095 as of this morning, October 1.
The new case is a 49-year-old Russian expert. He arrived in Vietnam from Russia on Flight QH9095, which landed at Can Tho airport on September 26. He was the 18th case on this flight to be confirmed as positive for Covid-19.
To date, the country has reported no new community-transmitted cases for 29 consecutive days, leaving the number of locally-transmitted cases unchanged at 691, including 551 cases recorded since July 25 when Covid-19 recurred.
Further, 1,010 Covid-19 patients have made a full recovery, while 35 others have died of the novel coronavirus so far, said the ministry.
