Lieutenant General To An Xo, spokesperson for the Ministry of Public Security, announced today, May 4, that the former minister Mai Tien Dung was charged with abusing powers while performing official duties.

Xo stated that Dung’s arrest was made as part of an expanded investigation into the case of bribery and abuse of powers in Lam Dong.

The decision to prosecute and detain Dung, former Party Central Committee member, was executed on April 30.
