Former HCMC leaders expelled from Party

Must read

HCMC – The Secretariat of the Party Central Committee decided to dismiss Nguyen Huu Tin, former HCMC vice chairman, and Dao Anh Kiet, former director of the HCMC Department of Natural Resources and Environment, from the Party over serious violations of the law.

The decision was made at a meeting chaired by Party General Secretary and State President Nguyen Phu Trong yesterday, July 28, after the Party Secretariat considered a proposal from the Central Inspection Committee to dismiss the ex-officials.

Violations committed by Tin, who is also a former member of the standing board of the HCMC Party Committee, and Kiet, former member of the municipal Party Committee, are serious and have left negative impacts on the prestige of the Party and the city, the Party Secretariat noted.

On July 20, the Central Inspection Committee proposed that the Party Secretariat dismiss former vice chairman Tin and former director Kiet from the Party over serious violations of the law.

Tin was imprisoned for seven years, while Kiet was jailed for six years and six months in late December 2019 for their wrongdoings in a case related to the now-jailed business tycoon, Phan Van Anh Vu, also known as Vu Nhom.
