HCMC – HCMC has selected eight hotels, including three- and five-star ones in districts 1, 3, 5, 7 and Tan Binh, with a combined 1,485 rooms, to be used as paid quarantine facilities for foreigners who will enter Vietnam for work, it was announced at a conference between the HCMC government and the European Chamber of Commerce on July 28.

Speaking at the conference, HCMC chairman Nguyen Thanh Phong noted that foreign experts, managers and high-ranking executives will be quarantined at these paid facilities, Nguoi Lao Dong Online reported.

The competent agencies will check and monitor these tourism lodging facilities regularly or suddenly to ensure they strictly follow the Covid-19 infection prevention and control measures.

At the conference, some European enterprises proposed the city create favorable conditions for foreign experts to enter the city for work.

The municipal Department of Tourism had previously worked with the HCMC Center for Disease Control to list 10 lodging facilities, with a total of over 1,610 rooms, for use as paid quarantine rooms for foreigners.
