Fresh covid cases hit record low in two months

HCMC – The Ministry of Health on September 25 recorded the lowest number of new daily Covid-19 cases in months.

The ministry said fresh Covid cases plunged to 961, down by 215 over the previous day. 

It also announced that more than 600 patients were free from the disease on the same day, taking the total number of recoveries to nearly 10.6 million and reporting no Covid deaths.

The country’s Covid tally has exceeded 11.4 million so far and is 13th in the reported cases from 230 countries and territories, with an average of 115,546 Covid-19 cases per million people.

Vietnam’s Covid death toll now stands at 43,146, accounting for 0.4% of the total cases, ranking 138th in Covid deaths per million people among 230 countries and territories.

Vietnam administered nearly 260 million Covid-19 vaccine doses as of September 24, including over 220 million doses for adults, some 23 million doses for teenagers from 12 to 17, and 16.5 million for children aged 5-11.
