HCMC – Authorities conducted around 1,350 inspections, discovered 274 cases of fuel trading violations, and collected over VND8.3 billion in fines from January to July, according to the Vietnam Directorate of Market Surveillance.

In July alone, more than 300 inspections were conducted, leading to the discovery and resolution of 54 cases, with total fines of VND1.3 billion.

The most common violations included failure to register distribution systems with the competent agency, employing untrained staff for fire safety and environmental protection, and selling fuel after licenses had expired, among other infractions.

Market management authorities have also inspected and fined several major traders, including Thien Minh Duc Group, Appollo Oil Corporation, and Trung Linh Phat (TLP) Petro, for failing to meet legal requirements related to fuel trading conditions.

In the first half of the year, the Ministry of Industry and Trade inspected six major traders and eight distributors for compliance with fuel trading conditions, with the process still ongoing.

The ministry has also directed inspections and taken action against four major traders and 20 fuel distributors. These inspections have not disrupted the domestic fuel supply.
