Greek President begins official visit to Vietnam

HCMC – Greek President Katerina Sakellaropoulou arrived in Hanoi yesterday, May 15, starting her official visit to Vietnam at the invitation of Vietnam’s State President Nguyen Xuan Phuc.

During her four-day visit, President Katerina Sakellaropoulou is scheduled to pay tribute to President Ho Chi Minh at his mausoleum and fallen soldiers at the Heroic Martyrs’ Monument in Hanoi this morning, before holding talks with her Vietnamese counterpart.

Then, she will meet with Party General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong and National Assembly Chairman Vuong Dinh Hue. On May 17, she will travel to HCMC to take part in some events in the southern economic center.

According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Greek President’s official visit to Vietnam is taking place in the context that the traditional friendship between the two countries is growing significantly. Thus, the visit is expected to help consolidate and deepen multi-faceted cooperation between the two sides.
