HCMC – Hanoi City got Asia’s Best Emerging Culinary City Destination 2023 award at the World Culinary Awards ceremony held recently in Dubai, the United Arab Emirates.
Hanoi, Vietnam’s capital city, surpassed contenders such as Kuala Lumpur (Malaysia), Kyoto (Japan), and Taipei (Taiwan), according to the Vietnam National Authority of Tourism.
The World Culinary Awards is a global initiative designed to celebrate and recognize excellence in the culinary industry.
Hanoi has three out of the first four Michelin-starred restaurants in Vietnam, and is increasingly recognized as a rising star in the global culinary scene. This award re-enforces Hanoi’s appeal to international tourists.
Vietnam’s restaurants also clinched other notable awards at the ceremony, including Asia’s Best Restaurant 2023 for Anan Restaurant & Rooftop Bar, Asia’s Best Brunch Venue 2023 for Hôtel des Arts Saigon, and Asia’s Best Hotel Restaurant 2023 for Hibana by Koki.
The Food and Culture Festival 2023 by Saigontourist Group won both Asia’s Best Culinary Festival and World’s Best Culinary Festival awards this year.
