HCMC – More than 243,000 passengers used Hanoi’s urban railway during the nine-day Lunar New Year holiday from February 14 to 22, up over 32% from a year earlier, according to Hanoi Metro.
The operator ran more than 3,333 train services over the holiday period. The Cat Linh–Ha Dong metro line carried more than 165,000 passengers. The Nhon–Hanoi Station metro line served nearly 78,000 riders.
Hanoi Metro attributed the increase to a growing tendency among residents and visitors to use urban rail during major holidays. The company noted that stable and punctual operations have reinforced the system’s role in the public transport network of the city.
