HCMC – The Hanoi government will start vaccinating children aged 12 to 17 against Covid-19 from the fourth quarter of this year to the first quarter of next year.
The vaccination campaign will cover both children who do not go to school and those attending school, using the Covid vaccines approved for children by the Ministry of Health. The vaccination process will depend on the ministry’s vaccine supplies and the Covid situation.
Children aged 16 and 17 first will get their shots first and then younger children, according to the city’s plan.
Children living in areas where there are Covid cases or where there is a high population density will be prioritized for inoculation. Besides, the priority list also comprises areas that are home to multiple venues with mass gatherings or many schools or areas bordering other provinces hit hard by the coronavirus.
The city will set up pop-up and fixed vaccination sites to ensure the vaccination of children runs smoothly.
The health authority will provide training for health workers in charge of inoculating children and ensure safety during the vaccination process, the local media reported.
