HCMC – The HCMC People’s Council has passed a resolution to launch the third Covid relief aid package for people affected by the pandemic in the city.

The relief aid will benefit people from poor and near-poor households, those eligible to receive monthly social assistance benefits, unemployed workers, dependents of unemployed workers living in the city and the needy living in rented rooms.

Dependents of people receiving pension, those getting an allowance due to lost work capacity, people participating in social insurance and workers who received a salary in August 2021 are also entitled to this package.

Each person will receive VND1 million.

In the third package, the city will not support four groups of people—those receiving pension, people getting an allowance due to lost work capacity, workers participating in social insurance and employees who received a salary in August 2021.

The municipal People’s Council asked the local authorities to quickly give relief aid to those with temporary or permanent residence and ensure transparency in the aid distribution process, the local media reported.

The third relief aid package, funded by the city’s budget, is set to benefit over 7.3 million people.
