HCMC – The HCMC People’s Council has approved a total budget of VND375 billion for flood control and embankment projects along Tran Xuan Soan Street in District 7.

Stretching 3.3 kilometers from Huynh Tan Phat Street to Rach Ong Bridge, Tran Xuan Soan Street is a key route connecting District 7 with districts 8 and 4. However, the street is often flooded by heavy rain and flood tide.

The flood control project, which will get VND245 billion from the city’s budget, will include upgrading the existing street, constructing a drainage system, and improving the sidewalks and riverbank guardrails.

The project will be carried out in two phases, starting with preparation and initial construction this year. The second phase, involving completing the construction and putting the project into operation, is scheduled for 2025.

In addition, the council has approved a VND130-billion investment in the construction of an embankment along the street to prevent erosion and ensure safety. This project will also be implemented from 2024 to 2025.
