HCMC attracts nearly one million visitors during National Day holiday

HCMC – The number of visitors to HCMC during the August 31-September 3 National Day holiday has edged up by 2% over the same period last year to 980,000, the city’s Department of Tourism reported.

The city has attracted 38,800 international visitors, up by 3.2% year-on-year, while the number of guests staying overnight during the four-day holiday has reached 214,630, rising by 32.5% over the previous year. The hotel room occupancy rate climbed by 6.3 percentage points year-on-year to 85%.

Travel firms have brought out various new products, including eco-tourism, community-based tourism, and high-end wellness packages. HCMC’s tourism revenue in this period has inched up by 1.7% versus the same period in 2023 to VND2.94 trillion.

Popular tourist sites have rolled out their promotions such as discounts and free tickets. A notable event was the tour of the HCMC People’s Committee headquarters, or the City Hall, a national architectural heritage site, which attracted over 1,800 visitors in two days.
