HCMC – Economic and medical experts in HCMC are in the process of studying and designing the Covid-19 green pass, said municipal chairman Phan Van Mai.
At a meeting with Deputy Prime Minister Vu Duc Dam and the Government’s special working team in HCMC on September 7, Mai said the city had established a working team to formulate a plan to fight the pandemic and help the economy recover after September 15.
HCMC is a service-oriented city, so it must ensure safety while resuming activities. Those involved in production and business activities must be safeguarded, the local media reported, citing Mai.
After September 15, agencies, enterprises and services must ensure certain safety requirements to be allowed to resume operations.
Supermarkets and trade centers will reopen gradually depending on their safety situation.
One of the key requirements is that the participants of these activities must be vaccinated against Covid-19, so Mai proposed the Government provide more vaccines to the city so it can administer the second shot for residents.
At a meeting of HCMC’s working team for Covid-19 vaccine supply and vaccination on September 7, HCMC Vice Chairman Duong Anh Duc said the city’s current top priority is vaccination, having earlier considered tracing and treating Covid-19 cases as its first priority in the fight against the pandemic.
With the green pass policy, it is important to accelerate the vaccination to resume economic activities at the earliest.
Many other localities are also studying the green pass policy and will apply it to return to the new normal.
