HCMC proposes approval of two more Covid treatment drugs

Must read

HCMC – The HCMC Department of Health has proposed the Ministry of Health approve Reamberin and Cytoflavin for emergency use to treat Covid-19 patients.

The municipal department on September 2 said that it wrote to the Department of Medical Examination and Treatment and the Drug Administration of Vietnam for consideration and approval.

The proposal came after the HCMC Department of External Relations on August 24 asked the municipal Department of Health to consider receiving the donation of Reamberin and Cytoflavin from the Polysan Scientific & Technological Pharmaceutical Company in Russia.

Earlier, the Russian drugmaker sought to donate the two drugs to serve the Covid-19 treatment in HCMC. Reamberin and Cytoflavin have been used for Russia’s Covid-19 treatment, Tuoi Tre Online reported.

As the number of positive Covid-19 cases in HCMC remains high, HCMC proposed the health experts of the ministry assess and approve the two drugs for Covid treatment as soon as possible.

HCMC is using two antiviral drugs, Remdesivir and Molnupiravir, to treat Covid-19 patients as they help shorten the treatment period for critical patients to recover faster.
