Some 1.3 million more Pfizer vaccine doses to arrive in Vietnam this month

HCMC – Vietnam will receive some 49 million doses of the Pfizer Covid-19 vaccine from now until the end of this year, with nearly 1.3 million doses set to arrive in the country in September.

From September 6 to 13, Vietnam will receive more than 700,000 Pfizer vaccine doses.

Besides, in October, some 11.5 million doses of the Pfizer vaccine will be shipped to the country, Nguoi Lao Dong Online reported.

In addition, some 35 million Pfizer vaccine doses will be sent to Vietnam in November and December.

To date, Vietnam has reached agreements to purchase over 51 million Pfizer doses, with 20 million doses set to be administered for children aged between 12 and 17.

Earlier, Minister of Health Nguyen Thanh Long said that in the third quarter of 2021, the number of Covid-19 vaccine doses shipped to Vietnam was not high, but the country would see a huge volume of vaccine at some 50 million doses arrive in the fourth quarter.

The country has received some 30 million doses of Covid-19 vaccines, including over 19 million AstraZeneca doses, five million Moderna doses, over 2.8 million Pfizer doses and more than 2.7 million Sinopharm doses.

As of this morning, September 3, Vietnam had administered over 20.8 million Covid vaccine doses, with over 2.8 million people receiving both shots.
