HCMC – HCMC is set to boost its cooperation with Singapore over manpower training and development, heard a meeting between HCMC Chairman Phan Van Mai and Tan See Leng, Singapore’s Minister for Manpower and Second Minister for Trade and Industry on August 11.
HCMC Chairman Mai highly valued Singapore’s workforce, saying that HCMC attaches much importance to the development of human resources. He said the city expects to strengthen the partnership to upskill its workforce for firms and State agencies.
He noted that the partnership between the city and Singapore in workforce promotion over the past few years has brought about high efficiency.
Manpower is a key resource of each nation, said Tan See Leng, adding that Singapore is focusing on developing human resources to meet the need for the country’s digital economic growth.
Singapore is willing to exchange information and experience, and support HCMC in manpower development, the representative of Singapore said.
HCMC Chairman Mai also hoped the cooperation would benefit the city and contribute to promoting Vietnam-Singapore ties, the local media reported.
In addition, the city expects Singapore to share its experience in smart city development, city governance, green economy development and startup community expansion, and encourage its firms to invest in the city.
The city’s leader committed to creating favorable conditions for Singaporean investors to do business in HCMC.
