HCMC – HCMC will hold its first-ever river festival from August 4 to 6, aiming to boost local tourism and showcase HCMC as a city of rivers and rich culture.

The festival will feature a wide range of activities at various locations, including the Saigon Cruise Port, Bach Dang Wharf Park, Nhieu Loc-Thi Nghe Canal area, Binh Dong Wharf, Suoi Tien Cultural Tourist Area, and other sites in Thu Duc City and neighboring districts.

The highlight of the festival is the art program titled “Saigon River – A Witness to History,” which portrays the historical development of Gia Dinh-Saigon-HCMC over the past decades.

Exciting events such as the 2023 HCMC boat race at Bach Dang Wharf, paragliding performances, and captivating lighting shows will be featured during the festival.

This event is expected to provide a valuable platform for travel and accommodation businesses to showcase their tourism products and services, including tours from HCMC to southwestern and southeastern regions.

Furthermore, the festival aims to promote the cultural and historical values of the city, said Nguyen Thi Anh Hoa, director of the HCMC Department of Tourism.

The festival is organized by the HCMC Department of Tourism, the Department of Culture and Sports, and other relevant departments, under the guidance of the HCMC People’s Committee.
