HCMC – Firefighting forces successfully brought a massive forest fire in Nam Dan District, Nghe An Province, under control early this morning, July 13, according to the local media.

The fire broke out at around 9 p.m. on July 12 in the protected and conservation forest area of Thuong Tan Loc Commune, Nam Dan District.

By the evening of the same day, the fire was contained. However, due to strong winds and hot weather, it rekindled and expanded, posing a threat to several residential houses at the base of the mountain.

Over 700 individuals, including military personnel, forest rangers, police officers, and local residents, were mobilized to fight the fire and prevent its spread. By 3 a.m. this morning, the fire was brought under control.

Authorities are currently assessing the extent of the forest area affected by the fire and investigating the causes behind the incident.
