HCMC – HCMC will open the 18th Tourism Festival, themed “Vibrant Ho Chi Minh City”, from May 14 to 17 at Le Van Tam Park in District 1, aimed at bringing a breath of fresh air to the local tourism sector and promoting popular destinations in the city.

The festival is also expected to enable participating provinces and travel businesses to introduce their travel products and services to more visitors, Le Truong Hien Hoa, deputy head of the municipal Tourism Department, told a press briefing held yesterday, May 5, to introduce the upcoming event.

Fifty provinces and cities, including Bac Lieu, Soc Trang, Yen Bai, Phu Tho, 38 tourism firms, 11 restaurants, and several local air carriers, have registered to join this annual event.

The festival will house three main zones, one tourism promotion zone designated for travel firms, districts, and medical facilities, one displaying travel products and local specialties, and the remainder being the food zone.

The highlight of the event is the tourism promotion zone, where visitors can get further information about a wide selection of travel products in the city, such as helicopter sightseeing tours, boat tours on the Saigon River and many tour programs being offered at preferential prices for visitors to the event.

On the sidelines of the festival, some seminars in the tourism industry will be held. At 13:30 on May 13 at the Majestic Saigon Hotel, a national seminar about regional connectivity in training and developing a high-quality tourism workforce in Vietnam post-pandemic will take place.

In addition, a seminar themed “Vietnam Tourism – Opportunities and Challenges in 2022 Summer” will be organized at the Rex Hotel, with the participation of leaders from 10 localities nationwide and 150 businesses in HCMC.
