Mui Vi Rong: A hidden coastal wonder

Must read

Tucked away in a quiet fishing village in Phu My Dong Commune, Gia Lai Province, Mui Vi Rong is an emerging destination that captivates visitors with its raw, untouched beauty .

Steeped in legend, Mui Vi Rong, literally “Dragon Fin Cape,” was once believed to resemble the fin of a giant carp, earning it the name “Dragon Scale Rock” among locals.

At sunset, the landscape takes on a mythical quality. A cluster of rocky outcrops, including Bai Ban and Da Dung, evokes the image of a great dragon rising from the sea. Whether viewed from afar or from above, the cape appears as a massive rock formation thrusting boldly into the ocean, standing resilient against the waves.

Within the rocky terrain lies a fascinating sea cave where mountains and the ocean meet in dramatic harmony. Waves crash against the jagged cliffs, sending white foam into the air and evoking the image of a dragon surging toward the open sea. From atop the rocks, visitors can take in sweeping views of fishing boats coming and going, layered mountain ranges in the distance, and long stretches of white sand fringed by coconut palms.

The clear, turquoise waters invite travelers to relax, explore, or simply soak in the tranquil surroundings. Scattered along the shore are uniquely shaped rocks, perfect for resting, playing in the water, or taking memorable photos. With its blend of legend, scenery, and serenity, Mui Vi Rong is a compelling destination for those seeking to explore the lesser-known shores of Gia Lai, about 70 kilometers north of Quy Nhon Ward.
