HCMC’s second flash sale attracts more firms

HCMC – About 60 businesses with over 400 brands took part in the second Flash Sale Holiday in HCMC last weekend, three times more than the inaugural event held in September.

The December 15-17 Flash Sale Holiday at the Union Square shopping center in District 1, was the city’s biggest promotional program for international and domestic brands.

The event offered high-quality products with discounts of up to 90%. Nearly half of the participants were local enterprises.

According to the HCMC Department of Industry and Trade, numerous businesses expressed their desire to participate in the event, but they were unable to secure a spot due to the limited capacity of the venue.

In September, the first Flash Sale Holiday event attracted 15,000 shoppers and generated revenue of around VND95 billion.

The effort is expected to boost retail sales and promote tourism in the city. The authorities intend to make the event an annual program, with the aim of positioning HCMC as a trendy shopping destination to both local and international visitors.
