The domestic infections were found in 61 out of the 63 provinces and cities, with the source of transmission of over 113,000 cases remaining unknown.

Hanoi reported the highest number of cases, at 29,833, up 564 cases day-on-day, followed by Nghe An with 10,389 cases. Bac Ninh reported 7,471 cases while Phu Tho had 6,997 cases.

Thai Nguyen, Hung Yen, and Hoa Binh were among the 10 localities that saw over 3,000 cases each.

On the same day, the health authorities of the four northern provinces—Quang Ninh, Thai Binh, Vinh Phuc, Lao Cai—registered to add a total of 103,528 cases detected earlier to the national Covid monitoring system.

Also, the country in the day reported 108,407 new recoveries and 92 more deaths linked to the coronavirus, bringing its total recoveries and death toll to 3.27 million and 41,477.

The ministry today also issued new guidelines on monitoring Covid patients under home-based care and treatment.

The ministry allowed people to confirm whether they are infected with Covid or not by taking a rapid test by themselves, instead of having to be tested by medical workers to get the confirmation of the test result.

Besides, Covid patients under home care and treatment were allowed to leave their home for essential reasons, provided that they wear face masks and keep a safe physical distance from each other to prevent the transmission.
