HCMC – The Ministry of Health has urged cities and provinces nationwide to quickly offer a Covid-19 vaccine to women who are 13 weeks pregnant or more.
It is necessary to speed up the vaccination of pregnant women, especially those in Covid-hit areas, as the trajectory of the Covid situation remains unpredictable, according to the ministry.
Pregnant women must be given shots at hospitals and clinics which qualify for obstetric emergency.
During the inoculation process, safety protocols must be observed to ensure the safety of health workers and pregnant women, said the ministry.
Besides, the ministry asked vaccination sites to conduct medical screening checks for pregnant women before administering a Covid-19 vaccine shot, the local media reported.
