HCMC – Asymptomatic coronavirus patients and those with mild symptoms in Hanoi and Danang cities have been allowed to receive home-based care, provided their houses meet the health authorities’ requirements.
The capital city of Hanoi approved a plan to implement home care of Covid patients not requiring hospitalization at a meeting held yesterday afternoon, November 29. The municipal health authority has made preparations to monitor and triage Covid patients to minimize their transfer to other medical facilities and regularly update their information on the city’s patient management system.
As of November 29, four outlying districts in the city—Hoai Duc, Soc Son, My Duc and Thanh Tri—were providing treatment for patients with mild symptoms or those who were asymptomatic at pop-up health care stations.
On the same day, the anti-Covid authority of Danang issued a pilot plan to allow asymptomatic Covid patients and those with mild symptoms to undergo home-based quarantine and treatment in December.
After the pilot period, the Danang Health Department will review the outcome of the pilot plan and propose expanding it to the city’s anti-Covid authority based on the Covid situation in the central locality.
Danang had earlier launched mobile apps to support those undergoing home quarantine. Therefore, the municipal government asked the Department of Information and Communications to continue to roll out other apps to help manage and monitor the health condition of Covid patients that are eligible to undergo home-based care and quarantine.
