HCMC – Numerous major international buyers have gathered in HCMC for Global Sourcing Fair Vietnam 2026 as firms diversify supply chains and seek cost competitive production.

The Global Sourcing Fair Vietnam 2026, which opened on April 22 at the Saigon Exhibition and Convention Center (SECC), HCMC, has drawn more than 500 suppliers operating about 700 booths and displaying over 40,000 products across four sectors.

According to the organizers, more than 12,000 buyers from over 120 countries and territories are expected to attend.

International visitors crowded booths featuring Vietnamese strengths such as garments, footwear and household plastics on the opening day, with many holding immediate sourcing talks as companies respond to continued uncertainty in global trade networks.

Vietnam is becoming known for quality electronics at competitive prices, said Vinod Suneja of Gadget League, who said he changed travel plans from Hong Kong to attend the event on short notice.

A representative of AusCham Vietnam said many Australian businesses were shifting orders to Vietnam to diversify supply sources and build longer-term partnerships in Asia. Vietnamese suppliers were increasingly meeting expectations on quality, international standards and production flexibility, the representative said.

James Liu, CEO of Global Sources, said Vietnam is emerging as a strategic manufacturing hub in Asia as buyers prioritize flexibility and diversification.

“The number of VIP buyers this year has risen by more than 50%, reflecting strong confidence from international markets in Vietnam’s increasingly important role in global supply chains,” he said.

With more than 500 international VIP buyers attending and around 2,000 business matching meetings expected, the exhibition is not only a sourcing platform but also a clear sign of the shift in supply chains toward Vietnam as global companies seek stability and cost efficiency.

A key highlight of the exhibition is the strong presence of Vietnamese companies. Most offer OEM and ODM services with competitive minimum order quantities while meeting international standards such as ISO, BSCI and GOTS.

Backed by solid manufacturing capabilities, Vietnamese firms are well-positioned to serve demanding markets such as the United States, Europe and Japan.

Running through April 24, Global Sourcing Fair Vietnam 2026 is seen as an important networking platform that not only reflects the shift of supply chains toward Vietnam but also creates opportunities for local businesses to integrate more deeply into global trade networks.
