HCMC – The central coastal province of Khanh Hoa has issued a draft plan to welcome domestic visitors on October 15, prioritizing leisure and closed travel services.
Besides, the province is planning to open up to international tourists in early December this year, according to the provincial Department of Tourism.
Nguyen Thi Le Thanh, deputy director of the provincial department, said that the tourism authority had developed tourism promotion programs to encourage residents to travel to Khanh Hoa.
Under its draft plan, visitors, residents and non-residents alike, must be fully vaccinated against Covid-19, or have received one shot of the Covid vaccine but test negative for the disease, Thanh Nien Online reported.
As for international tourists traveling to Khanh Hoa, they must be fully vaccinated and complete 14 days after receiving the second shot. In addition, their second shots should be administered no longer than 12 months prior to their travel.
Apart from this, foreign visitors who have recovered from Covid-19 no longer than 12 months prior to traveling and hold a certificate of their recovery will also be able to enter the province.
Speaking about the safety of visitors during the Covid-19 pandemic, the provincial department said that the province had basically brought the disease under control. Khanh Hoa Province targets to achieve 100% first dose coverage for all residents aged 18 and above and 40% second dose coverage by the end of September.
The province has many favorable conditions, including good weather, to reopen for tourism in the new normal stage, said Khanh Hoa Chairman Nguyen Tan Tuan.
As planned, Vinpearl, Vietjet and Vietravel will be allowed to bring international tourists to Khanh Hoa Province, he added.
To help the tourism sector recover, the leader of the provincial government has agreed to administer 30,000 more doses of the Covid vaccine to workers active in the tourism field.
The Khanh Hoa Department of Tourism was tasked with mapping out a plan to restore tourism gradually based on vaccination rates, while the provincial departments of Health and Transport were told to help the tourism authority receive visitors in a safe manner.
The provincial government also assigned the Department of Culture and Sports to organize various cultural programs to serve visitors.
