HCMC – The HCMC Union of Friendship Organizations (HUFO) and the Vietnam-Netherlands Friendship Association in HCMC held a ceremony on May 6 to commemorate the Netherlands’ King’s Day (April 27).

Speaking at the event, Tran Trong Dung, chairman of the Vietnam-Netherlands Friendship Association in HCMC, praised the long-standing diplomatic ties between Vietnam and the Netherlands, which were established in 1973, and the successful Vietnam visit by Dutch Prime Minister Mark Rutte in 2023.

Dung underscored the Netherlands’ position as the largest EU investor in HCMC and highlighted the city’s ongoing efforts to strengthen cooperation with Dutch counterparts, particularly in flood risk mitigation projects.

“People-to-people exchanges are the foundation of our strong friendship,” he added.
