HCMC – Domestic gold bar prices surged to a four-month high of VND86 million per tael today, October 16, while gold ring prices also rose to VND84 million per tael, according to local media reports.
At around 8:50 a.m., Saigon Jewelry Company (SJC) quoted gold at VND86 million per tael for buying and VND84 million per tael for selling, an increase of VND1 million from yesterday’s session. A tael equals 37.5 grams or 1.2 troy ounces.
Other major jewelry companies, including DOJI, Bao Tin Minh Chau, and Phu Quy, also raised their gold bar prices to the VND84-86 million per tael range.
In addition, the price of 24K plain gold rings at PNJ increased to VND83 million per tael for buying and VND84 million per tael for selling, up by VND200,000 from the previous session.
Bao Tin Minh Chau revised its prices for 24K plain gold rings to VND83.18 million per tael for buying and VND84.08 million per tael for selling, a rise of VND250,000 on both sides.
