HCMC – Domestic gold bar prices shot up to an all-time high of VND85.2 million per tael on April 26, according to local media reports.
Saigon Jewelry Company (SJC) quoted its yellow metal at VND83 million per tael for buying and VND85.2 million per tael for selling this afternoon, up by VND300,000 against the morning’s session and by VND1,000,000 compared to the session on April 25. A tael equals 37.5 grams or 1.2 troy ounces.
Similarly, Doji and Bao Tin Minh Chau also adjusted up their gold bar prices to VND83.1 million for buying and VND85 million for selling, an increase of VND100,000 compared to the morning session.
The price difference between buying and selling in the afternoon was maintained at around VND2-2.2 million.
After moving sideways since the beginning of the week, 24K gold rings at SJC also increased by VND600,000 in both buying and selling prices, reaching VND73.7 – 75.4 million per tael.
The gold ring price at Bao Tin Minh Chau was at VND74.4 – 76 million, while at DOJI it ranged around VND74.6 – 76.2 million per tael.
