Locally-infected cases of Covid-19 rise by 19

HCMC – The number of Covid-19 patients by community transmission in Vietnam has jumped by 19, with one case in Hanoi, 12 in Hai Duong, two in Quang Ninh, three in Dien Bien, and one in Ha Giang, the Health Ministry announced on Fridays evening, February 5.

The case in Hanoi was linked to the coronavirus outbreak in Chi Linh City of Hai Duong Province.

As for the 12 cases in Hai Duong, two are workers at an industrial zone in Chi Linh City and had been previously quarantined, thus posing no risk of community transmission; eight cases were linked to an industrial zone in the city; and two others were related to the coronavirus outbreak in Cam Giang District.

Quang Ninh Province reported two cases linked to the 1,627th patient and Vietnam Poyun Electronics Company in Hai Duong.

In Dien Bien, two cases were related to the outbreak in Hai Duong’s Cam Giang District. Authorities are investigating the source of transmission of the remaining case.

Similarly, the case in Ha Giang Province was linked to the outbreak in Cam Giang District.

To date, the country has reported 1,976 Covid-19 cases, including 1,465 recoveries and 35 fatalities.

Of the nation’s tally, 1,087 are locally-infected cases, with 394 cases being reported since January 27.
