HCMC – The Ministry of Transport has announced that in the third quarter of 2023, 14 out of the 64 projects proposed under the traffic development strategy for 2021-2025 will be submitted for approval.

These projects include major infrastructure investments in southern Vietnam, such as the phase-one My An-Cao Lanh expressway, Dau Giay-Tan Phu expressway, and the phase-one Cao Lanh-An Huu expressway, said the Ministry’s Management Board of Construction Investment.

By June 28, the authorities had given approval in principle to 60 out of the 64 projects outlined in the traffic strategy. So far, 42 of these projects have received full approval for investment and implementation schedules.

In the final quarter of this year, three more projects will be submitted for approval. These projects consist of the Cho Moi-Bac Kan Road, the upgrade of Con Dao airport facilities, and the development of waterway and logistics corridors in the southern region.

The Ministry of Transport has disbursed over VND35,600 billion of public investment capital in the year to June, representing 37% of the full-year target. The majority of capital disbursement in 2023 will be allocated to the North-South Expressway project.
