HCMC – More than VND4.5 trillion out of the VND8.7 trillion raised for the Covid-19 vaccine fund has been used to buy vaccines and sponsor the research and development of local vaccines, according to the fund management board under the Ministry of Finance.
Specifically, VND4.5 trillion has been used to buy vaccines and VND8.8 billion to support domestic vaccine development and research, Tien Phong newspaper reported.
As of September 21, nearly 549,700 individuals and organizations contributed over VND8.7 trillion to the fund, and the fund has accrued interest of VND13.5 billion as it has been deposited at banks.
The fund’s balance is some VND4.2 trillion as of now.
In addition, 13 organizations have committed to donating to the fund but have yet to transfer money or have transferred only a part of the committed amounts to the fund.
